When Okabe and Kurisu arrive back at the lab with the IBN 5100, Suzuha has a strange reaction upon meeting Kurisu. While gathering the parts needed to network the IBN 5100 with Daru's existing PC, Okabe meets Suzuha again, who warns him to be cautious of Kurisu. Daru gets the IBN 5100 working and they deduce that SERN had given the device a special programming language for the sole purpose of protecting the encrypted files. After using the IBN to decipher SERN's encrypted files, they then discover 14 entries of human trials on time travel complete with newspaper clippings spanning throughout the 20th century, which report the corresponding person being found dead in a jelly-like state at various locations across the planet. Kurisu speculates that SERN is using research into Kerr black holes. She suggests that the jellified state is as a result of matter passing through a gap in space-time smaller than the size of the matter itself, effectively squeezing and crushing it at the molecular level. Upon learning of SERN's experiments and their implications for the timeline, Okabe is initially shocked, but he vows to perfect his time machine (the phone microwave) before SERN. [From Wikipedia]
